My name is Mia and I am an Alternative Therpist who helps people in pain and discomfort achieve a life free from pain, so they can live the life they want, doing the things they love PAIN FREE.
I started up as a part-time business on 1st August 2014 while working at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a Care Manager. I have worked in a variety of health and care settings for 20 years, initially qualifying as a Social Worker with BA(Hons) in Social Sciences with Diploma in Social Work, COSCA Certificate in Counselling skills and INSYT Foundation Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy. I then developed an interest in complementary therapies, which I found complimented the work I was doing with young people and adults suffering from not only the physical aspects of pain but also the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, abuse and loss.
I am now qualified in a range of therapies when pulled together assist people in releasing blockages in the human system that maintain pain and suffering, including correcting misalignments in the joints and the spine. Misalignments in the vertebrae can cause a number of conditions in the body that appear unrelated like sciatica, cramps, IBS, circulation, heart issues, anxiety, bladder and intestinal issues to name but a few that can be alleviated by realigning the physical structure of the body.
Like many therapists, my grounding started in the natural therapies of Reiki and Indian Head Massage. Gaining a deep understanding of the incredible effects of energy medicine and the power of the mind with its potential to heal us from all manners of pain and discomfort.
I use a combination of manual therapy, to realign and rebalance the skeletal structure sound therapy to reprogramme deeper cellular memory, massage techniques, talking therapies, play therapy techniques and energy medicine, taking a holistic approach to healing body mind and soul.
Everybody’s journey is unique, therefore the approach taken to address issues has to be tailored to meet those individual needs. Consideration is taken into what prevents a person’s mind and body from releasing not just the pain but the ongoing suffering, held in the deeper cellular memory. This holistic approach brings people to a place where they find themselves on the journey to being liberated from the pain.
Living a pain-free life is a statement I love to hear after my clients have experienced the transformation that occurs following treatment. One of my clients Keith said he felt like a new man afterwards. I was pleased to hear that people felt at ease in my presence and amazed at the way they felt when they have completed their treatment. They feel better and more positive about themselves and their future.
I now feel like a new person after being in pain for over 8 years.
People are also noticing that I am standing and walking much better even my own GP commented!
Had a very cosy, relaxing Reiki session and Mia is so lovely. Feel more chilled than I have in ages. Highly recommend.
